It's actually quite simple: we layer tasty salads, mueslis or bowls in a sufficiently large jar - even the evening before - for our lunch break the next day. The ingredients, such as oatmeal, can also be soaked overnight if desired. Lunches can be enjoyed sweet or savoury, hot or cold, depending on taste. Soups and hot dishes can also be prepared in this way - all you need is a microwave and 5 minutes cooking time. The simplest version of the jar lunch is the leftovers from dinner, layered in a jar and stored in the fridge overnight. At the same time, we are setting an example against food waste!
But there's much more! There is usually a protein or starchy base such as rice, pasta, cereal (flakes) or potatoes. Add yoghurt or quark, sauces, herbs, raw vegetables, fresh or pickled vegetables or fruit and spices: Lid on, done. Our lunches don't need plastic boxes or foil, don't leak and are easy to transport... it couldn't be easier!
In addition, layered salads and mueslis look great in a jar - envious looks from colleagues are inevitable!

How does it work, what do I need?
Our great jars in 250 and 500 ml sizes are perfect for lunches in a jar and can be sealed leak-proof with the stainless steel lids. Our lids are even available with an integrated telescopic fork or spoon and other helpful tools - for example, those with an integrated grater or slicer to “slice” fresh ingredients directly into the jar.
Where can I get recipes?
Everywhere! In addition to specific cookbooks, many recipes have appeared on the well-known portals in recent years. We really like the blog https://lunchimglas.com - blogger Katharina not only has great recipe ideas, but also photographs her own creations so well that they make our mouths water. Once you've tried two or three recipes, new ones come to you as if by magic - and encourage you to eat fresher, more creative and healthier lunches than ever before.
Feel free to send us your examples or recipe ideas on insta or facebook - we're excited!
